Seva Utsav 2024: Honoring Sri M’s birthday at Anganwadi Kindergarten School, Kannur

Sri M's birthday was celebrated with a heartfelt seva , bringing joy to the children of Anganwadi Kindergarten School, Kannur. Snacks and books were distributed to 10 little ones, lighting up their faces with joy and filling our hearts with gratitude. Inspired by Sir's teachings, this small act of kindness reminded us of the profound impact of nurturing young minds. A group of Satsang Foundation volunteers gathered at Wheat House, Caltex, Kannur—a place filled with cherished memories of Sri M. The gathering felt like a reunion, a coming home, bound by our shared devotion. Reflecting on Sri M's words, we carried his message of unity and love in our hearts. A shared meal filled with laughter, gratitude, and a sense of belonging concluded this joyous occasion. Seva Utsav 2024: Tree planting marks Sri M’s 75th birthday at Swami Gopalananda Theertha Saraswathy Vidyanikethan, Ernakulam

Sri M's 75th birthday was celebrated with a MyTree plantation drive of 75 saplings at Swami Gopalananda Theertha Saraswathy Vidyanikethan, Aluva near Ernakulam. The tree species included Jackfruit, Mango, Guava, Neem, and Teak.   More than 100 school children participated in the plantation drive, planting each sapling with a sense of reverence and purpose. As the final sapling was gently placed in the soil, a profound silence filled the air, marking a powerful tribute to Sri M's vision of maitri - amity and harmonious coexistence with Nature.  Sweet laddoos brought much joy to the students as they offered their best wishes to Sri M with warmth and love. Satsang Seva Mission - Trivandrum launches Egg Distribution Program to address nutritional needs in children

On 4 September 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) at Trivandrum launched two impactful initiatives at the Idinjar Tribal School, benefiting 150 students from Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to Grade 10.  Empowering young bodies and minds The Egg Distribution Program aims to address the critical nutritional needs of the children, furthering the mission to nurture young minds and bodies, and contributing to their physical and academic growth. Fostering holistic well-being Mental and spiritual health will be supported for children aged 12 years and above through Yoga Sessions, fostering discipline, self-awareness, and peace, and equipping the children with invaluable tools to take on the challenges of life. School bags, stationery kits delight children at Pragathi Balabhavan, Ernakulam at start of new scholastic year

With the start of the new scholastic year in June, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) at Ernakulam, Kerala offered school essentials to 18 children sheltered at the Pragathi Balabhavan orphanage, Kothamangalam Thrikkariyoor, providing crucial educational support and promoting the value of education in the local, marginalized communities. The children were simply thrilled to receive their new school bags filled with notebooks, stationery, and essential toiletries. Expressing their gratitude to the SSM team, the children geared up for a year of wonderful learning opportunities. A quiet, shared lunch at the orphanage ended a day spent well in the company of these bright youngsters. Seva Utsav 2022: Sweets, Stationery, and Saplings Mark Sri M’s Birthday Celebrations at Mathruchaya Balabhavan, Kochi

On 6th November 2022, Team SSM Kerala commemorated Sir's birthday with annadaanam seva and celebrations at  Mathruchaya Balabhavan located in Chowara, Kochi. Mathruchaya Balabhavan is an orphanage for boys and senior citizens. The 20 young boys between the ages of 10 and 20 years sheltered here hail from less privileged families. They are provided with food, clothing, shelter, and education while the 18 elders at the home receive care and medical aid. The children sat together, meditated, and chanted the Gayatri Mantra. This was followed by a traditional Kerala Sadhya for everyone, and the cutting and sharing of a birthday cake, and an aarati in reverence to Sri M.  The team members also distributed 50 kgs of rice, 20 liters of oil, and some cakes and biscuits for the children. Team SSM Kerala Provides Wheelchairs to the Differently Abled at Ernakulam

To me, service is a significant part of one's spiritual path . - Sri M This clarion call to offer selfless service was clearly expressed in Team SSM Kerala's seva of bequeathing mobility aids to the differently abled hailing from impoverished families with the intention of empowering them to become self- confident, find employment, and participate in community life. The team decided to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with Samadrusti Kshamatha Vikas Evam Anusandan Mandal (SAKSHAM), a pan-India organization that provides mobility aids such as wheelchairs, white canes, and three wheeler vehicles to the differently abled.  On 14th August 2022, a public event was held at the Bhaskareeyam Convention Centre, Ernakulam to felicitate four beneficiaries with the donation of wheelchairs. Team SSM Kerala Offers Stationery Kits at Lakshmibai Seva Sadan Balika Trust, Alwaye

The Lakshmi Bai Seva Sadan Balika Trust in Alwaye, Kerala is an institution that promotes the empowerment of girls through education and skill training. While the state government takes care of the school fees and uniforms of government school students, often less privileged students have to buy their own school supplies.      On June 12, 2022 Team SSM Kerala decided to ease this burden off the young shoulders of 18 girl students at the trust by providing stationery kits that comprised school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, drawing books, color pencils, and compass boxes.     The intention was to encourage both these young girls and their caregivers to take education seriously and enhance holistic growth and development, thus ensuring that these promising youngsters will tread firmly on the path towards a successful career and a happy life.     During lunch, the team members shared a simple meal with the 'little champs' and offered them sweets and cake...

SSM Kerala Celebrates Sri M's Birth Anniversary with Festive Meal for Young Girls at Lakshmibai Seva Sadan Balika Trust

Team Satsang Seva Mission Kerala served a delicious meal to the 59 young girls of the Lakshmibai Seva Sadan Balika Trust on Sri M's birth anniversary, the 6th of November, 2021, which is also celebrated as Founder's Day.   The Lakshmi Bai Seva Kendra, under the auspices of the Rugmini Smriti Trust seeks to empower destitute girls and transform them into strong women through education, vocational skills, and spiritual learning.   A typical Sadya , comprising of 12 to 14 dishes, was served as a single course meal. It was an inspiring experience for the SSM team members to engage with the children and members of the staff to participate in the seva.

Annadanam at Sai Samithi Children's Home, Breakfast at Anandatheeram Home in Kollam, Kerala

'Service to humanity is service to God'. This sagacious slogan of the Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust coincided quite harmoniously with the intentions of the Satsang Seva Mission team in Kerala as it celebrated Founder's Day, the 6th of November, by offering Annadanam at the Sai Samithi Children's Home. The team members also served breakfast to differently-abled children and adults at Anandatheeram Home which has 36 inmates of whom the youngest is 8 years old while the oldest is 52 years old. Most of the inmates are either orphans or have been abandoned by their families. These divine meals shared with precious souls evoked much joy and devotion in the team members.

Annadanam and Distribution of Personal Hygiene Kits at the Tribal Girls' Hostel in Kottur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala

Team SSM Kerala celebrated Sri M's birthday on November 6th, 2021 with Annadanam and distribution of personal hygiene kits to 38 young indigenous girls from the Tribal Girls' Hostel in Kottur, Thiruvananthapuram. The hostel provides food, education, and other essentials to destitute indigenous girls from nearby villages.   The team members spent the entire day with these wondrous young girls and the staff as they shared breakfast, lunch, and dinner with them and interacted with them.  This special day ended with the firm resolution to help support other such institutions through selfless seva and gratitude.

SSM Kerala Celebrates Sri M's Birthday with Seva for Orphans, Destitute, Differently Abled, Aged and Diseased

Team SSM Kerala celebrated Sri M's Birth Anniversary on November 6th with the distribution of dry rations for the orphans, destitute, differently abled, aged and diseased served by the Hope Charitable Society in Pilathara, Kannur.     Besides providing meals, the society also provides  wheelchairs and free cataract surgery for the differently abled and aged. It also supports people in distress during any kind of natural disasters. The SSM team shared a happy and interactive time with the society members, remarking that it was a blessing to be of service on the occasion of Sri M's birth anniversary that is also celebrated as Founder's day at The Satsang Foundation.

SSM Kerala Rebuilds Shattered Dreams of COVID-Affected Families

Young Vijaykumar was working hard to pursue a career in Chartered Accountancy and had planned to study at a reputed coaching center in Kollam, Kerala. However, his dream was shattered when his father, Ganeshan, succumbed to COVID-19. Although he had only completed high school himself, Ganeshan always strove tirelessly to ensure better prospects for his children. He was aware that in helping his children achieve their dreams of pursuing higher education, the fortunes of the entire family would change for the better. When the SSM Kerala team heard of Vijaykumar's plight, they decided to offer the considerable tuition fee of the coaching institute and thereby prevent the disruption of his education. Supply of Masks and PPEs at Kottayam Medical College, Kerala

As the world faces the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19, it has been our doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who have cemented their position as the foremost champions of humanity, saving us as we were staring at an existential crisis.  The Satsang Seva Mission team stands in solidarity with all COVID-19 warriors and as a mark of gratitude our members visited Kottayam Medical College on August 12 with 7000 pairs of gloves and 50 PPE kits.  It was really heartening to hear Dr. Jayakumar, superintendent MCH Kottayam, and a fellow Satsangi thanking Sri M and The Satsang Foundation Kerala for the help which he affirmed has played a crucial role in augmenting and strengthening the efforts of the Government of Kerala in combating the pandemic. Supply of Masks and PPEs at Thrissur Medical College, Kerala

While the Indian government and administration are trying to cope with the mammoth responsibility of providing care to COVID-19 patients, as citizens we also have the responsibility to act and alleviate the situation.    Keeping in mind the pivotal role played by the COVID-19 warriors who have been working relentlessly to save lives in these times of great stress and change, the Satsang Seva Mission team in Kerala came forward to handhold them to the best of its capacity.    On August 11, our members were at Government Medical College, Thrissur, to provide 7000 pairs of surgical gloves and 50 PPE kits. Dr. Biju and Dr Nisha, superintendent and deputy superintendent of the college highly appreciated the efforts.    True to the legacy of India, people from across the country have come forward to join us in the mission of saving India from this pandemic. The Kerala SSM team distributed 36000 pairs of gloves and 170 PPE kits to five hospitals recently. The gesture was much appreciated by the beleaguered health workers still battling against some of the highest infection rates in the country. In Phase 1 of the distribution, the team visited Calicut Medical College, which has been functioning as a COVID Tertiary Rehabilitation Centre for Corona Category C patients, requiring all the necessary medical protective equipment. When the cases are its peak, the hospital requires 7000 to 10000 pairs of gloves in a day. Supply of Masks and PPEs to Ernakulam and Trivandrum Medical Colleges, Kerala

Words cannot express our gratitude towards all the Corona warriors who risked their own lives to save the lives of others. In support of our frontline workers battling the second wave of COVID-19, during Phases 4 and 5, the Satsang Seva Mission team in Kerala provided humanitarian assistance to government hospital medical colleges by donating medical essentials. On August 16, the team members were at Trivandrum Medical College to donate 8000 pairs of surgical gloves, 200 N 95 masks and 70 PPE kits and at Ernakulam Medical College to donate 7000 pairs of powdered surgical gloves.
