Following an initial visit to the border village of Tokipur during April 2022, Team SSM Kolkata has initiated several sevas in May 2022 to support a few inhabitants of this impoverished hamlet. Ramen Ghosh, aged 78 years, had been suffering from cataract and had nearly lost his eyesight for want of medical help. Swami Vivekananda once said: Don't go and preach religion to a hungry man. Feed him first. His religion right now is food. With this exhortation in mind, Team SSM Delhi offered annadaanam seva to 1500 homeless people at Yamuna Pushtha on Sunday, 29 May 2022.  The seva began with a Guru Puja to seek the blessings of the masters. Then the volunteers of The Bharat Yoga Vidya Kendra (BYVK) divided the large group of people into smaller groups and taught them a few simple techniques of Pranayama . The SSM team members then served a freshly cooked meal to the congregation. As the seva drew to a close, the happy faces of those who had just partaken of this meal brought much satisfaction to the team members.  To participate in such initiatives, reach us at connect@satsang-foundation.org or click https://satsangsevamission.org/contribute .

Weekly Distribution of Buttermilk Continues at Hyderabad

Image
Team SSM Hyderabad began another round of buttermilk distribution on Saturday, the 14th of May 2022 on the premises of a temple at West Marredpally. This time the buttermilk was lovingly churned out by an all-women's team of family members spanning three generations: a mother, her two daughters, and her granddaughter!  They first offered the buttermilk to the flower sellers and those seated at the entrance to the temple seeking kind benefactors. They then poured out the buttermilk to the devout who had turned up at the temple. About 80 people quenched their parched throats with the perfectly combined mix of fresh curd, mild spices, and cooled water.  They expressed their gratitude to the team members with wide smiles of relief.   To participate in such seasonal sevas , click https://satsangsevamission.org/contribute .

SSM Hyderabad Offers Buttermilk to Thirsty Wayfarers

Image
Team SSM Hyderabad set out to distribute buttermilk on the hot, dry day of May 7, 2022 to around 150 thirsty passersby at West Marredpally, Secunderabad and Gachibowli, Hyderabad.     The team members providentially found suitable places for their buttermilk stands: one on the premises of  a temple, and the other in an empty food stall on a busy road. The cool, minty, and refreshing buttermilk was poured out to the weary folk who drank it with apparent relish and sighed with relief as they took this soothing break. Happy smiles and cheery byes followed, before these travellers walked out into the blazing sun again,  albeit with a more energetic stride.  To participate in such seasonal sevas , click https://satsangsevamission.org/contribute .
