Seva Utsav 2024: Supporting elders at Anand Dham Old Age Home, Bhopal

Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Bhopal commemorated Founder's Day by offering a month's supply of dry rations to support the nutritional needs of 25 senior citizens at Anand Dham Old Age Home and spending heartwarming moments with them on 10 November 2024.  Aged between 70 and 80 plus years, 8 sprightly elders participated in a nostalgic singing session as a senior volunteer regaled them with classic Hindi film songs to the rhythm of a harmonica and sang a duet with one of the residents to karaoke music. The elders also sang bhajans and shared their life experiences, creating a joyous ambience.  Their warmth and wisdom revealed the beauty of living fully, even in the later stages of life, and demonstrated a remarkable strength in embodying peace and acceptance. Seva Utsav 2024: Tender moments of camaraderie at Hyderabad

The Karunaradham Old Age Home in Medipally, Hyderabad is a safe haven where senior citizens have found much-needed succor and shelter. The Satsang Seva Mission volunteers have been associated with this home for over two years, offering warm blankets, dry rations, and festive meals.  9 November 2024 marked a special day for the volunteers as they offered dry rations to support the nutritional needs of the residents in commemoration of Founder's Day. Comfortable clothing for the women residents was also offered as requested by the caretakers at the home. The volunteers spent time speaking with the elders, listening to their experience of living at the care home that was helping them overcome their challenges, nurturing a rare camaraderie, filled with joy and tender moments. Seva Utsav: Sri M’s Birthday celebrated with annadanam seva across Pune

On 9 November 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) commemorated Sri M's 75th birthday with a series of annadaanam sevas across the city of Pune, embodying Sri M's values of service and compassion . A special, hearty lunch was lovingly served to 55 differently-abled children and 5 staff at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha. This shelter home was also provided with a month's supply of groceries. At Akurdi Railway Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 40 daily wage workers enjoyed a simple meal of khichadi and a sweet, leaving them energized. Later that evening, the volunteers served a nourishing meal to 25 caregivers of patients at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Hospital, helping them find some comfort at the end of a tiring day of constant vigil over their ailing loved ones.   To volunteer for the Satsang Seva Mission and experience the joy of giving and sharing, please write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Seva Utsav 2024: Spreading the warmth of kindness at Delhi

The Satsang Foundation at Delhi and the Ramakrishna Ashram have long been associated with offering seva in unison. On 4 November 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) handed over dry rations including condiments, ghee, jaggery and a variety of vegetables for the preparation of the special khichadi to be offered on 6 November in celebration of Sri M's 75th birthday. During the a nnadaanam seva on 6 November, 650 recipients - rickshaw pullers, pavement dwellers, and daily wagers residing in the vicinity of the Ashram received this special prasad .  Extending the seva to the Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi where caregivers of patients, daily wagers, and rickshaw pullers gathered, hoping for a respite from the winter cold, volunteers offered a freshly-prepared, piping hot meal of kadhi-chawal . 1200 recipients partook of this meal with gratitude and joy, reaching out for more of the filling meal and basking in the warmth of kindness.  To join our teams of SSM volunteers...

Founder's Day celebrations continued on 6 November 2024 at Bujumbura, Burundi as Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers distributed dry ration kits to less-privileged families at the premises of the Hindu Mandal at Mystique and Missionaries of Charity Orphanage at Gatumba Province. Rice, bread, mandazi, and chocolates were offered to provide for the basic nutritional needs of the impoverished folk, struggling to make ends meet. Seva Utsav 2024: Celebrating our founder and chairman Sri M's 75th birthday at Sadum

The teachers and support staff of The Peepal Grove School (TPGS), founded by Sri M in 2006, came together to honour him on the auspicious occasion of his 75th birthday by distributing dry ration kits to 75 less-privileged families in the surrounding villages of the school at Gongivaripalli, Sadum Mandal, Andhra Pradesh. The support staff helped identify these recipients most of whom were senior citizens abandoned by their children. Everyone contributed in some way towards this celebration, displaying the great love and regard they have for Sri M. Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) at Bengaluru commemorated the birthday of Sri M with the distribution of 97 dry ration kits to pourakarmikas - sanitation workers - at Sarjapur and 43 kits to less privileged families living in Banaswadi. Symbolic of love and compassion, each dry ration kit reminds us that selfless service is an integral part of a spiritual aspirant's path. It was a heartwarming experience for the volunteers as the smiling faces of the recipients expressed gratitude and joy. Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission gathered together on Saturday 20 July 2024, the eve of Guru Purnima , offering annadaanam seva at the Sai Baba Temple in Matunga East Station Road even as the monsoon rain poured down incessantly. ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha came alive to the excited cheers of its differently-abled residents. Having received constant support with their nutritional needs, wellness, and shelter for the past 6 years, they warmly welcomed the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Pune. The youngsters gathered around them as they offered a month's supply of essential food items and toiletries. Sparkling eyes and winsome smiles greeted the sight of a consignment of rakhis in readiness for the festival of Raksha Bandhan . Donated with the intent of providing financial sustenance through their sale, these sacred, colorful bands caught the collective imagination of the happy troopers. Nutritional sustenance shores 21 rural households near Titwala, Mumbai

Working in tandem with a local NGO, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) in Mumbai reconnected with 21 households from five different villages near Titwala, Mumbai. Having first supported them and other recipients in this region with dry ration kits during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021, the volunteers acted upon an urgent request for help and provided essential food items to sustain them for the next two months. Without adequate opportunities to earn daily wages, middle-aged women, widowed women, and mothers with young children at Chaure, Kolam, Manoli, Navgaon, and Bapsai Villages now have access to staples such as wheat flour, rice, lentils, sugar, salt, cooking oil, and condiments to meet the nutritional requirements of their families. Dry rations, cool buttermilk offered to less privileged children at SAFEE Foundation, Hyderabad

Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) reached out to about 200 children, aged between 4 and 12 years, attending a summer camp organized by the Surepally Access Foundation for Education and Environment (SAFEE) at its learning centre in Saidabad, Hyderabad on 10 May 2024. SAFEE provides safe spaces free of violence, crime, and discrimination for vulnerable young children hailing from impoverished families and empowers them through reading skills, academic support sessions, computer classes, and summer classes on self-defence, music, dance, and effective communication. Two weeks of dry rations were offered towards the preparation of nutritious snacks for the young participants in the on-going summer camp. Cupfuls of home-made, refreshing buttermilk brought much relief to the first batch of 40 children soon after their energetic karate session. Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Nagpur continued their outreach program to support the basic needs of less privileged children at two shelter homes in the city. They offered shirts to 50 children at Matoshree Mainabai High School, Joshiwadi on 24 February and a month's supply of groceries at the Shree Anath Seva Ashram, Ashok Nagar on 25th February 2024. Team Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) Hyderabad has been associated with Mathru Abhaya Foundation, an orphanage that houses about 55 children in Medipally, Hyderabad since the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021, providing monthly dry rations, annadaanam seva , and essential supplies. The SSM volunteers welcomed the Year 2024 by offering monthly dry rations, toiletries, and stationery at the girls' home on 25th January. The children who had just returned from school were happy to meet the volunteers and chat with them before they bustled about with their evening routine. "A day well-spent," concurred the volunteers as they bid a fond goodbye to their young friends! Weekly annadaanam seva at Bengaluru supports nutritional requirements of various communities

Volunteers and members of Team SSM Bengaluru continue to support the nutritional requirements of different groups of recipients through the weekly annadaanam seva . Since the past 5 years, the team members have provided monthly rations to sustain the young boys and senior citizens sheltered at the Vallabh Niketan Ashram. Milk is served every morning to the growing adolescents and their elders. On Sundays, a hearty breakfast comprising South Indian dishes such as idlis, dosas, vadas, traditional sweets, and fruits brings together under the canopy of the ancient trees in the Ashram. At Lakshmipura, Gavipuram the team members have collaborated with Adamya Chetana since November 2022, to support the local community of daily wagers and pavement dwellers by offering a filling lunch comprising rice , sambar, buttermilk or curd , and a dessert every Sunday.
