Dry rations, cool buttermilk offered to less privileged children at SAFEE Foundation, Hyderabad

Image
Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) reached out to about 200 children, aged between 4 and 12 years, attending a summer camp organized by the Surepally Access Foundation for Education and Environment (SAFEE) at its learning centre in Saidabad, Hyderabad on 10 May 2024. SAFEE provides safe spaces free of violence, crime, and discrimination for vulnerable young children hailing from impoverished families and empowers them through reading skills, academic support sessions, computer classes, and summer classes on self-defence, music, dance, and effective communication. Two weeks of dry rations were offered towards the preparation of nutritious snacks for the young participants in the on-going summer camp. Cupfuls of home-made, refreshing buttermilk brought much relief to the first batch of 40 children soon after their energetic karate session. A treat of chocolate ice-cream bars simply delighted the bright youngsters, beleaguered by cramped domestic spaces and the scorching heat. J...

Buttermilk offered to thirsty wayfarers during intense heat wave in Hyderabad

Image
With an intense heat wave beating down on the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) reached out to the common folk selling their wares, working in construction sites, driving autos, taking the bus or metro, or just walking to their destinations with refreshing buttermilk on 4 May 2024. The minty, summer drink was lovingly prepared in the homes of the volunteers and offered at four different locations: Gudimalkapur and Sriram Nagar in Hyderabad; West Marredpally and Jubilee Bus Station Metro entrance in Secunderabad. Huge sighs of relief and smiles of gratitude greeted the volunteers as the cool buttermilk soothed the parched wayfarers. Beating the heat at Hyderabad with cool buttermilk.

A member of Team SSM Hyderabad set off on 12th June 2023, a scorching day, to offer 150 tetra packs of buttermilk to a melange of recipients in the busy lanes of Bharat Nagar. Construction workers, autorickshaw drivers, fruit and vegetable vendors,  pedestrians, and two-wheeler riders smiled with relief as they partook of cooled buttermilk.  The team member was deeply touched when a fruit vendor graciously offered fruits in return. Weekly Distribution of Buttermilk Continues at Hyderabad

Image
Team SSM Hyderabad began another round of buttermilk distribution on Saturday, the 14th of May 2022 on the premises of a temple at West Marredpally. This time the buttermilk was lovingly churned out by an all-women's team of family members spanning three generations: a mother, her two daughters, and her granddaughter!  They first offered the buttermilk to the flower sellers and those seated at the entrance to the temple seeking kind benefactors. They then poured out the buttermilk to the devout who had turned up at the temple. About 80 people quenched their parched throats with the perfectly combined mix of fresh curd, mild spices, and cooled water.  They expressed their gratitude to the team members with wide smiles of relief.   To participate in such seasonal sevas , click https://satsangsevamission.org/contribute .

SSM Hyderabad Offers Buttermilk to Thirsty Wayfarers

Image
Team SSM Hyderabad set out to distribute buttermilk on the hot, dry day of May 7, 2022 to around 150 thirsty passersby at West Marredpally, Secunderabad and Gachibowli, Hyderabad.     The team members providentially found suitable places for their buttermilk stands: one on the premises of  a temple, and the other in an empty food stall on a busy road. The cool, minty, and refreshing buttermilk was poured out to the weary folk who drank it with apparent relish and sighed with relief as they took this soothing break. Happy smiles and cheery byes followed, before these travellers walked out into the blazing sun again,  albeit with a more energetic stride.  To participate in such seasonal sevas , click https://satsangsevamission.org/contribute .
