The Mathru Abhaya Foundation, situated at Medipally in North-East Hyderabad, is an orphanage that houses 55 residents ranging in age from a tender 5 years to adolescents and young adults. The young boys and girls live in separate homes and receive food, shelter, education, and medical care. Team SSM Hyderabad has been associated with this safe haven since the past one year and supported these precious children regularly through the provision of dry rations, cooked meals, warm clothing, stationery, and school bags. In continuation of their commitment the team members decided to provide dry rations and essential items every month starting from the month of June 2022 for a period of six months. On 25th June 2022, the team members delivered the first monthly contribution of cooking oil, lentils, vermicelli, spices, salt, sugar, onions, garlic, ginger, and a few cleaning products and toiletries. With the reopening of schools after the summer vacation, Team SSM Mumbai decided to distribute essential school items to children from less privileged families. On 18th June, 2022 the team members visited Dr. S.V. Samant Vidyalaya, Turbhe and Modern School, Vashi Sector 7 and offered school bags, notebooks, drawing books, pens, pencils, erasers, foot ruler, and raincoats to 120 students from Grades 4 to 8. It was truly wonderful to have interacted with these bright children and put a smile on their faces as they start a new academic year! The Lakshmi Bai Seva Sadan Balika Trust in Alwaye, Kerala is an institution that promotes the empowerment of girls through education and skill training. While the state government takes care of the school fees and uniforms of government school students, often less privileged students have to buy their own school supplies.      On June 12, 2022 Team SSM Kerala decided to ease this burden off the young shoulders of 18 girl students at the trust by providing stationery kits that comprised school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, drawing books, color pencils, and compass boxes.     The intention was to encourage both these young girls and their caregivers to take education seriously and enhance holistic growth and development, thus ensuring that these promising youngsters will tread firmly on the path towards a successful career and a happy life.     During lunch, the team members shared a simple meal with the 'little champs' and offered them sweets and cakes.   It was indeed an insp

On Saturday 2nd June 2022, Team SSM Pune visited ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha to distribute fruits to the 70 specially-abled children who find shelter and care under the loving guidance of Mrs. Varpe, the founder of this home.     Mrs. Varpe has always welcomed these precious children and raised them with the intention of empowering them and making them lead independent lives through education and vocational training.      The children were engrossed in their daily classes when the team members arrived at the home. Happy, animated conversations accompanied their little welcome break as they shared a healthy fruit snack of juicy apples with them.
