Seva Utsav 2024: Wellness of young women at the forefront of holistic growth

A menstrual hygiene awareness camp was organized by Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers on 16 November 2024 to mark Sri M's 75th birthday at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya, Abhyankar Nagar, Nagpur. Led by Dr. Yamini Kale, OBGYN, this camp helped empower young girls with the confidence to address menstruation without inhibitions and make informed choices to promote their health. Dr. Kale emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. Introducing sustainable and safe menstrual practices, she focussed on hygiene and encouraged the use of menstrual cups - cost-effective, environmentally friendly, safe alternatives to sanitary napkins. She also highlighted the connection between mental health and hormones and responded to numerous queries and concerns in an engaging Q&A session with the young girls. Seva Utsav 2024: Nurturing the spirit of maitri with MyTree plantation drive at Pune

The village of Zendewadi in Purandar Taluka, Pune welcomed the 75th birthday celebration of Sri M on 10 November 2024 with a vow to protect the environment through a MyTree plantation drive in the spirit of maitri - amity and harmonious coexistence with Nature. Both young and senior MyTree environmental stewards, joined hands to plant 75  saplings of native species like Peepal, Neem, Kanchan, and Arjun, helping to maintain the ecological balance and protecting biodiversity. Seva Utsav 2024: Nourishing meals, school supplies offered at Navi Mumbai

In honor of Sri M's birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers organized heartfelt outreach activities offering support to marginalized groups at Vashi and Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai. On 9 November 2024, the SSM volunteers gathered at Vashi Sector 7 for a special annadaanam seva . Beginning with the Guru Stuti , the volunteers served a filling meal to daily wagers and their families from a less privileged housing colony nearby, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy. The volunteers set off the following day on 10 November to Jan Vikas Society Bal Ashram, a shelter home for young boys hailing from marginalized communities. Seva Utsav 2024: Compassion beyond green pastures

Committed to the well-being of abandoned, ailing, and injured cows, the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust, Pashan and the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala, Zendewadi at Pune personify the well-being of cows, providing them with daily nourishment and care despite monetary challenges. Marking Sri M's 75th birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers visited the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust on 9 November to offer their continued support toward the nurture of the cows sheltered here. Nutritious fodder, jaggery, bananas, and green leafy vegetables were fed to 35 cows. Carrying forth the spirit of care, the volunteers also offered fodder, wheat, and gram lentils to 10 cows at the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala at Zendewadi on 10 November 2024.  Join our volunteers as they continue to care for these gentle beings with love and compassion. Seva Utsav 2024: Discovering inner balance through yoga and Ayurveda at Pune

Continuing the celebration of Founder's Day, The Satsang Foundation (TSF) volunteers organized their monthly satsang on 9 November 2024 at the Sri Krishna Dhyan Mandir. A dual delight, this 3-hour session on traditional and medical yoga and Ayurveda. A volunteer trained at the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) emphasized the importance of improvising one's physical health by reducing stress, thereby promoting overall well-being. Yoga asanas for novices, breathing exercises designed to enhance flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness helped ease the group of 15 volunteers into a series of basic asanas . Learning how to correct body posture and use props in the practice of asanas helped the first-timers to adapt quickly to different types of pranayama such as bhramari and abdominal breathing, the Ayurvedic concepts of dinacharya and ritucharya , and the all-encompassing Surya Namaskar . Seva Utsav: Sri M’s Birthday celebrated with annadanam seva across Pune

On 9 November 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) commemorated Sri M's 75th birthday with a series of annadaanam sevas across the city of Pune, embodying Sri M's values of service and compassion . A special, hearty lunch was lovingly served to 55 differently-abled children and 5 staff at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha. This shelter home was also provided with a month's supply of groceries. At Akurdi Railway Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 40 daily wage workers enjoyed a simple meal of khichadi and a sweet, leaving them energized. Later that evening, the volunteers served a nourishing meal to 25 caregivers of patients at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Hospital, helping them find some comfort at the end of a tiring day of constant vigil over their ailing loved ones.   To volunteer for the Satsang Seva Mission and experience the joy of giving and sharing, please write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Seva Utsav 2024: Heartfelt tributes to Sri M from Aviral Godavari Mission partner organizations

Heartfelt tributes poured in on Sri M's 75th birth anniversary on 6 November 2024 from partner organizations working in unison with The Satsang Foundation (TSF) through Satsang Jal Seva Sangatan (SJSS) and Aviral Godavari Mission, a massive undertaking to revive River Godavari, the second largest river in India, and to green its origin on Brahmagiri mountain.  Volunteers from Namami Goda Foundation and several other organizations under the Jalbiradari banner offered special prayers and annadaanam seva across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. In celebration of Sri M's birthday on 6 November and the spirit of Deepavali, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Mumbai came together to spread joy and compassion across the city. Through a series of heartfelt sevas , they brought smiles to the faces of the needy.  Saint Gadge Maharaj Trust, Dadar On 2 November 2024, SSM volunteers visited the Saint Gadge Maharaj Trust, which provides affordable lodging for cancer patients and their families staying in Mumbai for treatment. Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Nagpur celebrated Sri M's 75th birthday with annadaanam seva near the Cancer Institute at the Super Specialty Hospital in Hanuman Nagar, bringing to fruition his vision of serving the less privileged with innate joy.  A nutritious meal was served to 600 individuals from the local community between 11.00 a.m. and 12.45 p.m. The blessings of generosity formed the crux of the occasion assuring hope and compassion for the deprived. The Mahila Seva Mandal in Pune apart from  providing  shelter to young women also rehabilitates  them and empowers  them to lead a normal life with dignity.  Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) celebrated Sri M's birthday with a nutritious breakfast  for 100 residents of the ashram. The volunteers ensured that the seva was offered with due respect to the security norms of the shelter home. Value education sessions continue to engage students at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya

On 28 September 2024, the value education sessions held at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya, Dahisar continued as the children of Grade 10 further delved into the concept of 'pause' as an important tool to help them 'let go' of their inhibitions and challenging circumstances. As the youngsters sat in a comforting circle, they shared their thoughts and concerns about their upcoming exams. Learning how to release their stress from body and mind, the children practised the Kashtha Takshanasana or the Woodchopper Pose Flow and participated in a brief meditation. The children of Grades 2 and 3 affirmed the positive impact of meditation on their ability to focus in class and achieve their goals during an engaging conversation on meditation. Panorama of holistic learning activities for children at Mithanagar Municipal School, Mumbai

Since the reopening of the Mithanagar Municipal School at Goregaon in June 2024, Team Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) at Mumbai has conducted a series of well-planned activities, promoting the overall growth and holistic development of 50 children from Grades 4 to 7. Power of storytelling The first value education session on 25 June witnessed the narration of compelling stories by college-going volunteers who highlighted the themes of inner beauty, kindness, compassion, and respect for wise elders.   Back-to-school essentials In July, the children received notebooks, stationery, and sketching books as they continued to build on their academic and co-curricular activities, enabling their learning and growth in a phased manner. Pitru Paksha commemorated with seva for abandoned, injured cows at Pune

During the auspicious period of Pitru Paksha , venerating ancestors, the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers offered seva at the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust in Pashan, Pune on 22 September 2024. About 50 abandoned and injured cows and bulls have found a safe haven at this gaushala which provides nutritious food and healthcare support to them. The SSM volunteers contributed to their nutritional well-being, feeding them with  fodder, jaggery, bananas, and green leafy vegetables with much compassion. The meaningful interactions and quiet moments spent with these ailing, gentle bovines helped renew the resolve of the volunteers to continue their seva in the days ahead. Sundays come alive with skilling sessions at Mermier Bal Ashram, Navi Mumbai

The Jan Vikas Society, Mermier Bal Ashram provides a safe haven for less privileged children aged between 5 and 15 years at Navi Mumbai. The children are provided with food, shelter, and education at municipal schools situated close by. Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) at Navi Mumbai have launched a series of sessions to help develop co-curricular skills and support the holistic well-being of the children. Taking to sessions on Computers with great enthusiasm, the older children have learned how to use Microsoft Word and Excel for typing, formatting, data entry and calculations while the younger ones have explored their creative abilities with Paint. Music, mindfulness & meditative practices define the value education sessions at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya, Dahisar

A gamut of activities defined the value education sessions conducted by the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers for the children of Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya at Dahisar, Mumbai on 21 September 2024. The children of Grade 10 were introduced to the concept of pause in the hustle-bustle of their daily schedule through an activity that helped them to observe their breath. The technique of box breathing was also introduced to help them manage their emotions mindfully while a paper folding activity enhanced their ability to reinforce and recall important concepts.  A music session enlivened the session conducted for the children of Grades 3 and 4. Brimming with energy, the young participants learned to sing two short songs harmoniously as they uncovered the lyrical quality of the Sanskrit language. The value education sessions held on 14 September 2024 at the Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya, Dahisar unfolded a series of reflections encompassing authenticity in personal interactions and the promise of hope. Children of Grade 10 continued their self-introspection and explored their multifaceted roles of being children, siblings, friends, students, and young citizens in a dynamic environment while learning to communicate respectfully with their peers and elders alike. A short video clip of the Walk of Hope set to the song Chal Chalen was screened for the children of Grades 1-4, igniting the promise of hope and unity. Sharing their aspirations for the future, the young children expressed their emotions through sketches and heartfelt testimonies.
