Seva Utsav 2024: Discovering inner balance through yoga and Ayurveda at Pune
Continuing the celebration of Founder's Day, The Satsang Foundation (TSF) volunteers organized their monthly satsang on 9 November 2024 at the Sri Krishna Dhyan Mandir. A dual delight, this 3-hour session on traditional and medical yoga and Ayurveda. A volunteer trained at the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) emphasized the importance of improvising one's physical health by reducing stress, thereby promoting overall well-being.
Yoga asanas for novices, breathing exercises designed to enhance flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness helped ease the group of 15 volunteers into a series of basic asanas. Learning how to correct body posture and use props in the practice of asanas helped the first-timers to adapt quickly to different types of pranayama such as bhramari and abdominal breathing, the Ayurvedic concepts of dinacharya and ritucharya, and the all-encompassing Surya Namaskar.
