Seva Utsav 2024: Nurturing the spirit of maitri with MyTree plantation drive at Pune

The village of Zendewadi in Purandar Taluka, Pune welcomed the 75th birthday celebration of Sri M on 10 November 2024 with a vow to protect the environment through a MyTree plantation drive in the spirit of maitri - amity and harmonious coexistence with Nature. Both young and senior MyTree environmental stewards, joined hands to plant 75  saplings of native species like Peepal, Neem, Kanchan, and Arjun, helping to maintain the ecological balance and protecting biodiversity. Seva Utsav 2024: Compassion beyond green pastures

Committed to the well-being of abandoned, ailing, and injured cows, the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust, Pashan and the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala, Zendewadi at Pune personify the well-being of cows, providing them with daily nourishment and care despite monetary challenges. Marking Sri M's 75th birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers visited the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust on 9 November to offer their continued support toward the nurture of the cows sheltered here. Nutritious fodder, jaggery, bananas, and green leafy vegetables were fed to 35 cows. Carrying forth the spirit of care, the volunteers also offered fodder, wheat, and gram lentils to 10 cows at the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala at Zendewadi on 10 November 2024.  Join our volunteers as they continue to care for these gentle beings with love and compassion. Seva Utsav 2024: Discovering inner balance through yoga and Ayurveda at Pune

Continuing the celebration of Founder's Day, The Satsang Foundation (TSF) volunteers organized their monthly satsang on 9 November 2024 at the Sri Krishna Dhyan Mandir. A dual delight, this 3-hour session on traditional and medical yoga and Ayurveda. A volunteer trained at the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) emphasized the importance of improvising one's physical health by reducing stress, thereby promoting overall well-being. Yoga asanas for novices, breathing exercises designed to enhance flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness helped ease the group of 15 volunteers into a series of basic asanas . Learning how to correct body posture and use props in the practice of asanas helped the first-timers to adapt quickly to different types of pranayama such as bhramari and abdominal breathing, the Ayurvedic concepts of dinacharya and ritucharya , and the all-encompassing Surya Namaskar . Seva Utsav: Sri M’s Birthday celebrated with annadanam seva across Pune

On 9 November 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) commemorated Sri M's 75th birthday with a series of annadaanam sevas across the city of Pune, embodying Sri M's values of service and compassion . A special, hearty lunch was lovingly served to 55 differently-abled children and 5 staff at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha. This shelter home was also provided with a month's supply of groceries. At Akurdi Railway Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 40 daily wage workers enjoyed a simple meal of khichadi and a sweet, leaving them energized. Later that evening, the volunteers served a nourishing meal to 25 caregivers of patients at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Hospital, helping them find some comfort at the end of a tiring day of constant vigil over their ailing loved ones.   To volunteer for the Satsang Seva Mission and experience the joy of giving and sharing, please write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Seva Utsav 2024: Heartfelt tributes to Sri M from Aviral Godavari Mission partner organizations

Heartfelt tributes poured in on Sri M's 75th birth anniversary on 6 November 2024 from partner organizations working in unison with The Satsang Foundation (TSF) through Satsang Jal Seva Sangatan (SJSS) and Aviral Godavari Mission, a massive undertaking to revive River Godavari, the second largest river in India, and to green its origin on Brahmagiri mountain.  Volunteers from Namami Goda Foundation and several other organizations under the Jalbiradari banner offered special prayers and annadaanam seva across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra Kopargaon The founder of Godamai Pratishthan offered light refreshments and sweets to women of less privileged families. The Mahila Seva Mandal in Pune apart from  providing  shelter to young women also rehabilitates  them and empowers  them to lead a normal life with dignity.  Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) celebrated Sri M's birthday with a nutritious breakfast  for 100 residents of the ashram. The volunteers ensured that the seva was offered with due respect to the security norms of the shelter home. Pitru Paksha commemorated with seva for abandoned, injured cows at Pune

During the auspicious period of Pitru Paksha , venerating ancestors, the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers offered seva at the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust in Pashan, Pune on 22 September 2024. About 50 abandoned and injured cows and bulls have found a safe haven at this gaushala which provides nutritious food and healthcare support to them. The SSM volunteers contributed to their nutritional well-being, feeding them with  fodder, jaggery, bananas, and green leafy vegetables with much compassion. The meaningful interactions and quiet moments spent with these ailing, gentle bovines helped renew the resolve of the volunteers to continue their seva in the days ahead. Yoga plays diplomat: Harmonizes 3 generations in one lively session

In celebration of International Day of Yoga (21 June 2024), volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) in Pune enlisted the expertise of Bharatiya Yogavidya Kendra (BVK) to host a yoga session at the serene Sri Krishna Dhyan Mandir on 29 June. The objective was to promote holistic well-being for the community, welcoming a diverse group of 8-10 participants ranging from Baby Boomers to Gen Alpha, all uniting on the mat. The skilled trainer, cognizant of age diversity, tailored the program to accommodate all ages and abilities. Starting off with gentle warm-up exercises, the participants flowed through a selection of asanas like Trikonasana and Surya Namaskar to release stiffness. A calming pranayama sequence followed, and led the participants to discover impregnable peace and relaxation within themselves. Satsang Seva Mission volunteers at Pune partnered with Sumati Balwan, a local non-profit that empowers underprivileged children through holistic education, combining traditional academics with valuable vocational skills. Here's our recent collaboration at a glance: Improved sanitation : Recognizing the importance of proper hygiene, especially during the monsoon season, the SSM team played a key role in constructing a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Sumati Balwan. Nourishing meals : Understanding the importance of good nutrition for learning and development, the team assisted Sumati Balwan in acquiring a month's supply of essential groceries like oil, sugar, and lentils, providing nutritious meals for the 25 young girls residing in the hostel and the dedicated staff. ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha came alive to the excited cheers of its differently-abled residents. Having received constant support with their nutritional needs, wellness, and shelter for the past 6 years, they warmly welcomed the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Pune. The youngsters gathered around them as they offered a month's supply of essential food items and toiletries. Sparkling eyes and winsome smiles greeted the sight of a consignment of rakhis in readiness for the festival of Raksha Bandhan . Donated with the intent of providing financial sustenance through their sale, these sacred, colorful bands caught the collective imagination of the happy troopers. Clean, old fabric was handed over to the ANIKET management team for the creation of cloth bags at their skilling centre. Installation of water pipeline at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha, Pune

The ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha at Pune provides refuge, rehabilitation, education, and a safe space for differently abled children from less privileged families. Since the past four years, the volunteers of Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) have consistently supported the well-being of these children in myriad ways - dry rations, festive annadaanam seva , clothes, sports clothing, yoga sessions, and financial support for utilities.  On the occasion of Rang Panchami , 30th March 2024, the volunteers met the founder, Ms. Kalpana Varpe, and contributed towards the installation of a water pipeline to help ease water scarcity at the new home located near Lavasa Link Road.  Euphoric cheers swept through the home as the children and SSM volunteers celebrated the arrival of Spring with resplendent, organic colors. An inspiring talk by Sri M at the Ordnance Factory Dehu Road, Pune

In a bid to infuse wellness into the work culture, OFDR invited Sri M to deliver a talk on "Yoga for Professional Excellence." Amidst the backdrop of manufacturing essential pyrotechnic products, Sri M's session aimed to alleviate stress and foster well-being among the employees. Sri M's delved into the profound teachings of yoga, tailored to address the challenges faced by employees in their demanding roles. He emphasised the importance of maintaining mental and physical health, especially in high-pressure environments. The audience, comprising both employees and students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pune, were captivated by Sri M insights on incorporating yoga and meditation into daily routines. Team SSM Pune initiates weekly yoga sessions at Ordnance Factory

In a thoughtful and much-needed initiative, Team Satsang Seva Mission at Pune launched yoga sessions for employees at the Ordnance Factory at Dehu Road, Pune on 7th January 2024.  Facilitators trained at the Bharat Yoga Vidya Kendra (BYVK) of The Satsang Foundation, led the first batch of 16 participants in an introductory session of asanas , pranayama , and meditation following an engaging interaction focussed on the role of yoga in the prevention and management of disease.  They also sought to understand the needs of the participants and spoke briefly about nutrition and health at the factory that is an integrated base for indigenous production of defence hardware and equipment for the armed forces. Specially-abled children of ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha set to move into new home

ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha, founded by Ms. Kalpana Varpe, offers food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and vocational training to specially-abled children. Team SSM Pune has been associated with this home since the past 4 years, providing monthly dry rations, meals, clothes, stationery, educational material, and financial support for utilities such as electricity. The team members have also organized medical checkups, special workshops on yoga and art, and festive events. Precious bonds of love and friendship have since blossomed among the children and the team members. Holi Celebrated with Great Joy at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha, Pune

Team SSM Pune celebrated the festival of Holi with the differently-abled children of ANIKET Sevabhavi Santha on 6th March 2023. The children first participated in the ritual of Holika Dahan . Some of the girls drew beautiful rangolis and filled them with vibrant colors. The children then sang and joyously danced around the bonfire. Their eyes sparkled with happiness as they received their all-time favorite snack of vada pav and sweet gulab jamuns soon after. The team members expressed their gratitude for having celebrated these festive moments with these wondrous children. Joyous moments marked Sri M's visit on 17th January 2023 to ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha as he interacted with the differently-abled children sheltered at this safe home. A fun-filled yoga session facilitated by a member of Team SSM Pune delighted the children as they performed asanas such as Marjasana, Sinhasana, and Bhujangasana , imitating the postures of animals and their sounds. The children then welcomed Sri M with applause and chanted the Gayatri Mantra , Guru Stuti , and Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra . A personal interaction and breakfast followed. Sri M blessed the children and encouraged the founder, Mrs. Varpe, to continue her selfless seva .
