Team SSM Kolkata launched its 'Annadaanam Kolkata' seva on 21st August 2022 for the caregivers of patients at the Chittaranjan Seva Sadan and Shishu Sadan Hospital and the Chittaranjan National Institute of Cancer at Hazra, Kolkata.     The team members sourced freshly prepared, hot vegetable khichadi from the catering unit of the ISKCON given its excellent quality and taste. They served large spoons of this nourishing meal into meal boxes and offered them to the caretakers of patients outside the pediatric hospital and the cancer institute.   More than 200 meal boxes wound their way into the grateful hands of the caregivers whose sweet smiles of relief enthused the team members to extend this humble seva to several others who long for a simple meal to rejuvenate themselves while they care relentlessly for their loved ones in hospital. Team SSM Bengaluru began its weekend annadaanam sevas on Saturday, 21st August 2022 with the distribution of 200 boxes of vegetable pulao for the caregivers of patients at the St. John's Hospital.  The team members received the meal boxes from Adamya Chetana Foundation, a voluntary organization that supports the less privileged through the provision of mid-day meals. As the trolley carrying the meal boxes rolled through the corridors of the pediatric and general wards, several caregivers, particularly those who hail from far-flung villages and towns, found much  comfort in the simple meal while they tended to the well-being of their ailing loved ones. This spirit of comfort and well-being colored the Sunday special breakfast on 22nd August 2022 at the Vallabh Niketan Ashram. The young inmates are provided with a sumptuous yet nourishing breakfast every Sunday morning to meet their nutritional requirements and pave the way for greater unfolding through healthy bodies and minds. Over the past 10 months, Team SSM Chandigarh has been supporting The Chandigarh Spinal Rehab Centre with the provision of dry rations for the benefit of patients and their caregivers.   This rehab centre provides healing and rehabilitation to patients who have suffered spinal cord injuries. Given the sustained need for treatment and its long duration, caregivers of patients require additional resources to ensure adequate nutritional support to their loved ones.     The team members handed over 60 litres of cooking oil, 50 kgs of sugar, 40 kgs of different lentils such as green gram and chickpeas, and 5 kgs of tea to the management team at the centre on 17th August 2022.    The generous and unflinching support of donors and other contributors has sustained this selfless seva and provided much succor to several families.   To support Team SSM Chandigarh in this endeavor, write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Team SSM Coimbatore celebrated the 75th Independence Day on 15 August 2022 with its dear friends at the Eera Nenjam Old Age Home in RS Puram.     The 80 inmates of this shelter home for senior citizens received a box of wheat laddus as they participated in this momentous celebration of nationhood.     The team members handed over common medicines such as multivitamin and calcium supplements, anti-acidity tablets, analgesics, and prescription medicines for those suffering from diabetes and hypertension. They also provided health drinks to support the nutritional needs of the inmates.     Each visit to this precious haven for the aged is characterized by loving exchanges between the team members and the inmates who look forward to spending their time with their younger friends.   To participate in such initiatives for senior citizens, contact us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

To me, service is a significant part of one's spiritual path . - Sri M This clarion call to offer selfless service was clearly expressed in Team SSM Kerala's seva of bequeathing mobility aids to the differently abled hailing from impoverished families with the intention of empowering them to become self- confident, find employment, and participate in community life. The team decided to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with Samadrusti Kshamatha Vikas Evam Anusandan Mandal (SAKSHAM), a pan-India organization that provides mobility aids such as wheelchairs, white canes, and three wheeler vehicles to the differently abled.  On 14th August 2022, a public event was held at the Bhaskareeyam Convention Centre, Ernakulam to felicitate four beneficiaries with the donation of wheelchairs.
