Team SSM Kerala Provides Wheelchairs to the Differently Abled at Ernakulam

This clarion call to offer selfless service was clearly expressed in Team SSM Kerala's seva of bequeathing mobility aids to the differently abled hailing from impoverished families with the intention of empowering them to become self- confident, find employment, and participate in community life.

The team decided to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with Samadrusti Kshamatha Vikas Evam Anusandan Mandal (SAKSHAM), a pan-India organization that provides mobility aids such as wheelchairs, white canes, and three wheeler vehicles to the differently abled. 

On 14th August 2022, a public event was held at the Bhaskareeyam Convention Centre, Ernakulam to felicitate four beneficiaries with the donation of wheelchairs.

The event was inaugurated by Shri Ramdutt Chakradhar, Sah-Sarakaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the wheelchairs were handed over to Dr. Santhosh Kumar Karleti, senior public health specialist and member of NMC, NHRC, and NPCB.

A commemoration of the martyrs who had lost their lives in the service of the nation followed. 

The caregivers of the recipients were overjoyed to have received the wheelchairs: 'blessings' and 'treasures' for their entire family. 

The team members also expressed their gratitude to these precious recipients for giving them the opportunity to be of service.
