Seva Utsav 2024: Wellness of young women at the forefront of holistic growth

A menstrual hygiene awareness camp was organized by Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers on 16 November 2024 to mark Sri M's 75th birthday at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya, Abhyankar Nagar, Nagpur.

Led by Dr. Yamini Kale, OBGYN, this camp helped empower young girls with the confidence to address menstruation without inhibitions and make informed choices to promote their health. Dr. Kale emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. Introducing sustainable and safe menstrual practices, she focussed on hygiene and encouraged the use of menstrual cups - cost-effective, environmentally friendly, safe alternatives to sanitary napkins. She also highlighted the connection between mental health and hormones and responded to numerous queries and concerns in an engaging Q&A session with the young girls.

This awareness session brought home the message of supporting the well-being and growth of these young girls and the larger community with empathy and clarity.
