Seva Utsav 2024: Wellness of young women at the forefront of holistic growth

A menstrual hygiene awareness camp was organized by Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers on 16 November 2024 to mark Sri M's 75th birthday at Nutan Bharat Vidyalaya, Abhyankar Nagar, Nagpur. Led by Dr. Yamini Kale, OBGYN, this camp helped empower young girls with the confidence to address menstruation without inhibitions and make informed choices to promote their health. Dr. Kale emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise. Introducing sustainable and safe menstrual practices, she focussed on hygiene and encouraged the use of menstrual cups - cost-effective, environmentally friendly, safe alternatives to sanitary napkins. She also highlighted the connection between mental health and hormones and responded to numerous queries and concerns in an engaging Q&A session with the young girls. Seva Utsav 2024: Nurturing the spirit of maitri with MyTree plantation drive at Pune

The village of Zendewadi in Purandar Taluka, Pune welcomed the 75th birthday celebration of Sri M on 10 November 2024 with a vow to protect the environment through a MyTree plantation drive in the spirit of maitri - amity and harmonious coexistence with Nature. Both young and senior MyTree environmental stewards, joined hands to plant 75  saplings of native species like Peepal, Neem, Kanchan, and Arjun, helping to maintain the ecological balance and protecting biodiversity. Seva Utsav 2024: Supporting elders at Anand Dham Old Age Home, Bhopal

Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Bhopal commemorated Founder's Day by offering a month's supply of dry rations to support the nutritional needs of 25 senior citizens at Anand Dham Old Age Home and spending heartwarming moments with them on 10 November 2024.  Aged between 70 and 80 plus years, 8 sprightly elders participated in a nostalgic singing session as a senior volunteer regaled them with classic Hindi film songs to the rhythm of a harmonica and sang a duet with one of the residents to karaoke music. The elders also sang bhajans and shared their life experiences, creating a joyous ambience.  Their warmth and wisdom revealed the beauty of living fully, even in the later stages of life, and demonstrated a remarkable strength in embodying peace and acceptance. Seva Utsav 2024: Nourishing meals, school supplies offered at Navi Mumbai

In honor of Sri M's birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers organized heartfelt outreach activities offering support to marginalized groups at Vashi and Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai. On 9 November 2024, the SSM volunteers gathered at Vashi Sector 7 for a special annadaanam seva . Beginning with the Guru Stuti , the volunteers served a filling meal to daily wagers and their families from a less privileged housing colony nearby, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy. The volunteers set off the following day on 10 November to Jan Vikas Society Bal Ashram, a shelter home for young boys hailing from marginalized communities. Seva Utsav 2024: Compassion beyond green pastures

Committed to the well-being of abandoned, ailing, and injured cows, the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust, Pashan and the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala, Zendewadi at Pune personify the well-being of cows, providing them with daily nourishment and care despite monetary challenges. Marking Sri M's 75th birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers visited the Jagdamba Gauseva Trust on 9 November to offer their continued support toward the nurture of the cows sheltered here. Nutritious fodder, jaggery, bananas, and green leafy vegetables were fed to 35 cows. Carrying forth the spirit of care, the volunteers also offered fodder, wheat, and gram lentils to 10 cows at the Senapati Hambirrao Mohite Goshala at Zendewadi on 10 November 2024.  Join our volunteers as they continue to care for these gentle beings with love and compassion. Seva Utsav 2024: Excursion to Chandigarh Rock Garden marks Founder’s Day

Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers organized an enriching excursion to the Rock Garden, Chandigarh for students of Grades 10-12 from Government Senior Secondary School at Bargodam, Kalka on 9 November 2024 to mark Founder's Day, An exploration of the Bird Park, Sukhna Lake, and Rock Garden was followed by a pranayama session. The students also participated in an eco-quiz on sustainability and conservation, with the top four winners receiving prizes for their knowledge and enthusiasm. For the students who had never traveled outside Kalka before, this extraordinary experience left a lasting impression on their young minds. Seva Utsav 2024: Bengaluru grows greener by 750 saplings

Commemorating Sri M's 75th birthday, MyTree volunteers at Bengaluru held a successful tree plantation drive on 9 November 2024. Together, they transformed the DCP CAR campus at Cottonpet, into a budding sanctuary of 750 saplings. In the early light of a Saturday morning, they moved quietly, guided by a purpose that was bigger than themselves—an honoring, a tribute to Sri M and his dream of a world both cleaner and greener, where life would spring forth from the soil itself.  Each volunteer, from the eldest with hands worn and wise, to the youngest—a bright-eyed girl of just ten—took to the earth with saplings cradled in their hands, planting them as one plants hope. They pressed each root down with gentle conviction, breathing life into the ground. Seva Utsav 2024: Discovering inner balance through yoga and Ayurveda at Pune

Continuing the celebration of Founder's Day, The Satsang Foundation (TSF) volunteers organized their monthly satsang on 9 November 2024 at the Sri Krishna Dhyan Mandir. A dual delight, this 3-hour session on traditional and medical yoga and Ayurveda. A volunteer trained at the Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) emphasized the importance of improvising one's physical health by reducing stress, thereby promoting overall well-being. Yoga asanas for novices, breathing exercises designed to enhance flexibility, relaxation, and mindfulness helped ease the group of 15 volunteers into a series of basic asanas . Learning how to correct body posture and use props in the practice of asanas helped the first-timers to adapt quickly to different types of pranayama such as bhramari and abdominal breathing, the Ayurvedic concepts of dinacharya and ritucharya , and the all-encompassing Surya Namaskar . Seva Utsav 2024: Promoting holistic wellness in rural communities

The Sacred Grove and ArogyaM commemorated Founder's Day with a series of Ayurveda camps, yoga sessions, and health awareness sessions for the local community at Chowdepalle and the surrounding towns. During every session they distributed sweets and buttermilk to all the participants and visitors.   Ayurveda outreach camps: Led by a team of 4 Ayurveda vaidyas (physicians) and 4 dedicated volunteers, with the support of residential staff, these outreach camps provided much-needed care to 220 patients at Punganur, Palamaner, and Swaasthya Hospitals. Medicines offered at no cost. Daily ayurveda camps: Held  from 2 - 10 November, benefitted over 60 patients.  Daily yoga sessions: Certified Bharat Yogavidya Kendra (BYK) instructors conducted yoga sessions for children from the local community. The Karunaradham Old Age Home in Medipally, Hyderabad is a safe haven where senior citizens have found much-needed succor and shelter. The Satsang Seva Mission volunteers have been associated with this home for over two years, offering warm blankets, dry rations, and festive meals.  9 November 2024 marked a special day for the volunteers as they offered dry rations to support the nutritional needs of the residents in commemoration of Founder's Day. Comfortable clothing for the women residents was also offered as requested by the caretakers at the home. The volunteers spent time speaking with the elders, listening to their experience of living at the care home that was helping them overcome their challenges, nurturing a rare camaraderie, filled with joy and tender moments. Seva Utsav: Heartwarming festivities at Preet Paatshala, Gurgaon

Preet Paatshala, located amidst a less-privileged housing colony in Bakhtawar Chowk, Gurgaon is a non-formal learning centre for children of migrant workers. Since its inception in October 2021, it has served as a humane sanctuary for migrant workers and their children post COVID-19. The learning programme is now seamlessly managed by a dedicated teacher who devotes two hours every day, imparting basic education to the children, preparing them for future 'professional development' at other nonprofit/ government schools.  Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Delhi, in association with the 'The Gratitude Project' of the Kundan Trust for Education celebrated Sri M's 75th birthday with these children on 9 November 2024. Seva Utsav: Sri M’s Birthday celebrated with annadanam seva across Pune

On 9 November 2024, volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) commemorated Sri M's 75th birthday with a series of annadaanam sevas across the city of Pune, embodying Sri M's values of service and compassion . A special, hearty lunch was lovingly served to 55 differently-abled children and 5 staff at ANIKET Sevabhavi Sanstha. This shelter home was also provided with a month's supply of groceries. At Akurdi Railway Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 40 daily wage workers enjoyed a simple meal of khichadi and a sweet, leaving them energized. Later that evening, the volunteers served a nourishing meal to 25 caregivers of patients at Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Hospital, helping them find some comfort at the end of a tiring day of constant vigil over their ailing loved ones.   To volunteer for the Satsang Seva Mission and experience the joy of giving and sharing, please write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Seva Utsav 2024: Satsang Jal Seva Sangatan volunteers launch percolation wells project

The premises of the Crime Branch Office at Shanthi Nagar, spread over a considerable area, often experience widespread water logging due to heavy rains, clearly requiring percolation wells to help stem this recurrent problem. Sri M's birthday served as an opportune occasion to embark upon this venture with the rains having receded. Work commenced on the morning of 4 November 2024 for the construction of ten percolation wells in the low-lying areas of the premises. Seva Utsav 2024: Heartfelt tributes to Sri M from Aviral Godavari Mission partner organizations

Heartfelt tributes poured in on Sri M's 75th birth anniversary on 6 November 2024 from partner organizations working in unison with The Satsang Foundation (TSF) through Satsang Jal Seva Sangatan (SJSS) and Aviral Godavari Mission, a massive undertaking to revive River Godavari, the second largest river in India, and to green its origin on Brahmagiri mountain.  Volunteers from Namami Goda Foundation and several other organizations under the Jalbiradari banner offered special prayers and annadaanam seva across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra Kopargaon The founder of Godamai Pratishthan offered light refreshments and sweets to women of less privileged families. In honor of Sri M's 75th birthday, Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers at Chandigarh organized two heartwarming events that brought comfort and care to the community. On 4 November 2024, volunteers hosted a nourishing langar seva at the PGI Hospital, serving over 700 patients and their families from a mobile unit. The traditional, wholesome meal brought a sense of relief and warmth to those enduring long vigils at the hospital, providing not just food, but hope and compassion. The spirit of selfless service found expression on 8 November when the volunteers offered a light meal and essential medicines to the residents of Senior Citizen Home, Sector 15. The visit culminated in a serene pranayama and meditation session, helping the residents find peace and relaxation while nurturing their well-being, uplifting spirits, and fostering unity. Seva Utsav 2024: Empowering women through wellness workshops

As part of the Seva Utsav celebrating Sri M's 75th birthday, the ArogyaM team from The Sacred Grove organized impactful workshops for women's wellness, equipping young women with essential health knowledge and tools for lifelong well-being. The first session took place on 6 November 2024 at Shri Gnanambica Degree College in Madanapalle, attended by 200 students, and the second on 8 November at Government Junior College in Chowdepalle, Andhra Pradesh. At the Madanapalle college, the team introduced holistic wellness approaches and led discussions on women's health, focusing on gynecological care, menstrual health, and self-care practices. Yoga asanas for menstrual wellness were also demonstrated, along with insights on Ayurveda , discipline, and daily wellness routines. Seva Utsav 2024: Swaasthya Hospitals outreach program at The Sacred Grove, Chowdepalle

The celebration of Founder's Day at The Sacred Grove included a community medical outreach camp in concert with the Swaasthya Hospitals team on 8 November 2024 at Peddakondamarri near Chowdepalle. Health screening of 161 patients from Kotturu, Vellagampalle, Palyampalle, and surrounding  villages preceded consultations with the general physicians and specialists in Orthopedics, Gynecology, and Dental Care. Some of the disorders addressed included respiratory tract infections skin problems such as chronic eczema, fungal infections hypertension diabetes mellitus myalgia, arthralgia, osteoarthritis gastritis, indigestion, worm infestations menstrual irregularities dental caries Supporting the community with quality medical care and medicines, the Swaasthya Hospitals team helped ease the challenges of patients in rural areas.
