SSM Mumbai Kendra volunteers offer myriad sevas across the city in January 2024

Volunteers of the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) Mumbai Kendra welcomed Year 2024 with different sevas at different centres across Mumbai. Tambe School, Dahisar East Sensitization sessions on holistic well-being are being held at the Tambe School for children of Grades 3 and 4 to help them develop self-awareness and confidence. On 6th January, fitness took centre stage as they learned how to do squats, push-ups, and planks.  On 22nd January, a session on music  and movement represented by the acronym B.E.S.T - Body, Energy, Space, and Time filled the children with great joy as they demonstrated their dancing skills and sang bhajans enthusiastically. Hiranandani Estate Garden, Thane Bi-weekly yoga sessions were launched at the Hiranandani Estate Garden for the children residing in the nearby labor camp. Non-stop annadanam seva for 372 weeks at Bengaluru

For 372 weeks, Vallabh Niketan Ashram has been providing nutritious Sunday breakfasts, daily milk, and monthly rations to 40 senior citizens and boys aged 9-20. Yoga and English classes enhance their well-being.  Additionally, SSM Bengaluru has been serving Sunday lunches for 60 weeks to 120 residents in Lakshmipura.  Your support can help sustain these initiatives and impact lives. Patriotic fervor marks Republic Day celebration at Vallabh Niketan Ashram, Bengaluru

The 24 young boys sheltered at Vallabh Niketan Ashram, Bengaluru celebrated India's 75th Republic Day with great gusto during their Spoken English classes held on 27th January 2024. The junior group of boys colored pictures depicting the flag hoisting ceremony and the Indian Armed Forces with vibrant strokes while the senior group participated in inspirational discussions based on the contribution of great leaders towards the foundation of the Indian republic. Colorful commemoration of 75th Republic Day at Namma Mane, Bengaluru

On the eve of India's 75th Republic Day the volunteers of Team SSM Bengaluru engaged the 40 young girls sheltered at Namma Mane in an art session.  Drawing sheets, crayons, and sketch pens brought the creative abilities of the children to life as they commemorated the occasion with much reverence. The special art session ended with chocolate cookies for the young artists. Monthly dry rations, essential supplies offered at Mathru Abhaya Foundation, Hyderabad

Team Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) Hyderabad has been associated with Mathru Abhaya Foundation, an orphanage that houses about 55 children in Medipally, Hyderabad since the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021, providing monthly dry rations, annadaanam seva , and essential supplies. The SSM volunteers welcomed the Year 2024 by offering monthly dry rations, toiletries, and stationery at the girls' home on 25th January. The children who had just returned from school were happy to meet the volunteers and chat with them before they bustled about with their evening routine. "A day well-spent," concurred the volunteers as they bid a fond goodbye to their young friends! Team SSM Pune initiates weekly yoga sessions at Ordnance Factory

In a thoughtful and much-needed initiative, Team Satsang Seva Mission at Pune launched yoga sessions for employees at the Ordnance Factory at Dehu Road, Pune on 7th January 2024.  Facilitators trained at the Bharat Yoga Vidya Kendra (BYVK) of The Satsang Foundation, led the first batch of 16 participants in an introductory session of asanas , pranayama , and meditation following an engaging interaction focussed on the role of yoga in the prevention and management of disease.  They also sought to understand the needs of the participants and spoke briefly about nutrition and health at the factory that is an integrated base for indigenous production of defence hardware and equipment for the armed forces. Warm blankets offered to visually challenged youth at Apang Mahila Bal Vikas Sanstha, Nagpur

As the bitter winter cold continued to afflict the citizens of Nagpur, the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) team in Nagpur reached out to provide protection to 120 visually challenged youth in collaboration with the Apang Mahila Bal Vikas Sanstha on 13th January 2024. Basic computer training, courses in art, singing, and various vocational skills are conducted for the visually challenged at this NGO which supports the differently abled, women in distress, and the holistic growth of children. Snacks and enthusiastic conversations with the recipients marked the conclusion of this special seasonal seva . Weekly yoga sessions continue at Mithanagar Municipal School, Goregaon

The volunteers, trained at the Bharat Yoga Vidya Kendra (BYVK) of The Satsang Foundation (TSF) have inculcated a regular regime of an opening and  a closing prayer, Sukshma Vyayama, Asanas, and Pranayama in the children since the launch of the yoga classes in June 2023. Elements of yoga theory have also been woven into the practice since the past 30 weeks to help the children understand the deeper aspects of yoga. During the weekly session held on 13th January 2024, the volunteers donated a bluetooth speaker set with wireless mic to the school to conduct various programs for the students. Blankets offered to less privileged at Narapally Village in Medchal District, Telangana

With a bitter cold wave spreading across Telangana State, Team SSM Hyderabad joined hands with the founder of Manoj Tuition Centre for less privileged children to offer 50 blankets to people from less privileged families and daily wagers at Narapally Village in Medchal District, Telangana.  Gentle smiles of gratitude greeted the SSM volunteers as  the gifts of warmth reached the recipients on 8th January 2024. 102,000 meals served across India in 2023

Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers served 102,000 meals in Year 2023 that included dry ration kits and 52,100 cooked meals which were served on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis all across India.  They reached a total of 54,000 recipients: caregivers of patients, pavement dwellers, daily wagers, and the less privileged at shelter homes and schools.  To support the Satsang Seva Mission and experience the joy of giving, please write to us at connect@satsang-foundation.org .

Team SSM Vrindavan and Madhu Ki Rasoi usher in New Year by offering special meal to less privileged at Mathura

Team SSM Vrindavan volunteers ushered in the New Year on 1st January 2024 by offering a special meal of puris, vegetable curry, and kheer prepared at Madhu Ki Rasoi to 350 sadhus and less privileged denizens at the Mathura Railway Station. Sri M had launched Madhu Ki Rasoi or Madhu's Kitchen, The Satsang Foundation's community kitchen in September 2023 to help reach out to the hungry and dispossessed in the twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. Since its launch, over 30, 000 meals have been offered through daily, nocturnal annadaanam seva at the Mathura Railway station.
