Joyous interactions mark monthly visit to Mathru Abhaya Foundation

As the Satsang Seva Mission (SSM) volunteers arrived at the Mathru Abhaya Foundation, Hyderabad on Sunday, 27 October 2024, the children milled around them in joy, awaiting yet another session of engaging conversations even as they expressed their gratitude for the monthly supplies of staples and essential items. Peals of laughter and animated conversations filled the home with cheer as the volunteers facilitated fun games for the younger children and dumb charades for the older ones. 104 weeks of sustained annadaanam seva offered to marginalized communities at Lakshmipura, Bengaluru

Launched on Founder's Day, 6 November 2022, the weekly annadaanam seva offered to the community of daily wagers, pavement dwellers, and less privileged at Lakshmipura in Gavipuram, South Bengaluru is set to complete 104 weeks. Every Sunday afternoon, a freshly-prepared, nourishing lunch of rice, lentils, vegetable curries, a sweet, and curd is served to them on the premises of Adamya Chetana, an NGO that supports the nutritional needs of the less privileged.  Prayers of gratitude precede the meal uniting volunteers and recipients in the spirit of selfless service. Value education sessions continue to engage students at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya

On 28 September 2024, the value education sessions held at Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Vidyalaya, Dahisar continued as the children of Grade 10 further delved into the concept of 'pause' as an important tool to help them 'let go' of their inhibitions and challenging circumstances. As the youngsters sat in a comforting circle, they shared their thoughts and concerns about their upcoming exams. Learning how to release their stress from body and mind, the children practised the Kashtha Takshanasana or the Woodchopper Pose Flow and participated in a brief meditation. The children of Grades 2 and 3 affirmed the positive impact of meditation on their ability to focus in class and achieve their goals during an engaging conversation on meditation. They learned of the significance of the Navaratri festival and expressed their excitement at participating in the Garba dance.
